The LSL Bazm e Adab Society organized a book launch for Dr. Ali Osman Qasmi’s book, “Qaum Mulk Sultanat.” The event was moderated by Mr. Wajahat Masood.
Dr. Ali Qasmi shared insights from five chapters of his book. In the first chapter, he discussed *”Citizenship”* and the constitutionally-guaranteed rights of people, regardless of their religion. The second chapter focused on the clash between *”Mullahs and Modernists”* , particularly about the Board of Islamic Teachings and the representation of women in the assembly. In the third chapter *”Nationalizing the State”* he explored the process of choosing symbols and colours for the state’s identification and representation. In the fourth chapter *”One Nation One Eid”* Dr. Ali Qasmi delved into the challenges and implications of diverse Eid celebrations across the state, examining how historical narratives shape national identity.
In the fifth chapter, *”Curating a National Narrative,”* He discussed the historical background of history and offered some critiques. He examined how historical narratives are constructed and curated to shape national identity.
The event concluded with Principal Nasir Javed Iqbal and Director Mr. Ajmal Shahdeen expressing their sincere gratitude to the esteemed guests by presenting him token of appreciation.
