Mr. Sarim Bhatti

Mr. Sarim Bhatti, a dedicated Civil Servant within the Inland Revenue Service (IRS) at the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in Pakistan, possesses a diverse array of academic interests encompassing Tax Law, Policy and Law, Public Law, Public International Law. He has a strong academic foundation, including an LLM in Public International Law from Leiden University, Netherlands (2018-2019), an MSc in Philosophy of Public Policy from the London School of Economics, UK, awarded through a Chevening Scholarship (2014-2015), and an LLB from the London School of Economics, UK (2001-2004). He also holds academic qualifications from Aitchison College, Lahore. With a diverse academic background, Sarim has made significant contributions in the field of law. His professional journey includes holding positions such as Deputy Commissioner – IR (Audit), various secretarial roles at FBR, and an enriching internship at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda in Arusha, Tanzania. Furthermore, Sarim has honed his skills through training programs such as the Mid-Career Management Course at the National Institute of Management Sciences (NIMS), Lahore (August 2019 – March 2020), a Specialized Training Programme at the Directorate of Training and Research (DOT), Lahore (October 2010 – February 2011), and a Common Training Programme at the Civil Services Academy (CSA), Lahore (January 2010 – October 2010). At Lahore School of Law, he teaches the course of Public International Law.
