The LSL Debating Society is one of the leading societies at Lahore School of Law. It has organised different debate and declamation contests at inter-college and intra-college level. It has an outstanding record of winning. Skills acquired through the debate program such as critical thinking, public speaking, communication skills, research skills are extremely helpful in pursuing legal career. Its goals are to foster critical thinking skills among students by engaging in rigorous and well-researched debates on legal and societal issues, along with improving public speaking, presentation, and persuasive communication abilities, which are crucial skills for lawyers and legal professionals.

During the last academic year (2022-2023), society organised its orientation session on “Debating Basics” and the Guest speaker was Mr. Zaka-Ur-Rehman. Besides, the first bilingual debating competition with the theme of ‘Bol k Lab Azaad Hain Teray’ was held on Nov, 30^th 2022. The distinguished panel of judges included legendary journalist and writer Mr. Wajahat Masood, Mr. Asad Jamal, Mr. Hussain Majrooh, Mr. Zaka-Ur-Rehman, Ms. Javeria Azam and Mr. Ayyan Adil.The Society is also proud to host Dr. Nadia Anwar, (Dean of Liberal Arts at University of Management and Technology) to throw light on public speaking, communication skills and vocabulary enhancement. LSL Debating Society believes communication skills are essential for empowering youth to become engaged citizens, skilled professionals, and honourable leaders in our clubs. Besides, members of LSL debating society Bilal Abdur Rehman, Aman Rao and Rana Umer have participated in FCCU All Pakistan Debating Championship.
